Bio

Mrs. Bennett is on her 11th year of teaching, 4.5 of them in White Pine County. Mrs. Bennett has a Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Consumer Science Education, she puts this skill to use teaching a Food and Nutrition class each quarter, a Master’s of Education to teach K-8 students, and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction. One of Mrs. Bennett’s goals is to start a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction within the next 3 years. Mrs. Bennett has taught 1st grade, 4th grade, and 7th and 8th grade math. Mrs. Bennett currently teaches 8th grade math and loves the content and the association with students. Mrs. Bennett pushes her students to learn math even when they do not want to. Mrs. Bennett grew up in Las Vegas, but moved to Idaho and Arizona for school and jobs. After 10 years in Arizona away from family, Mrs. Bennett and her husband decided to move to Ely to be closer to both sets of grandparents. Mrs. Bennett has a passion to teach math, but loves to read “just for fun” books. She is a self-proclaimed “home-body” and loves to play board games with her children.
